Happy Birthday (aka Welcome to Death Valley)

Today I turned 37. And my family felt it appropriate to drag me to Death Valley. Actually the opposite is true. No one really wanted to go but me. However it was a lot of fun and it's always cool to hit a landmark like the lowest point in N.A.

P.S. Death valley is seriously hot.

hey dunhams. thanks for updating. i remember walking through las vegas on my way to mexico. i think i like the desert more too. but i skipped death valley for obvious reasons.
ps you should change your setting so anyone can comment and not just people who have blogspot accounts. go to settings, comments and then change who can comment. i doubt youll get much spam comments so its not a big deal

Dear Everyone!! Congratulations to Andy, a Junior Ranger in the family, we are very proud of him. Jon, the Venezuelan Voyager' put us up to checking out your site, somehow I made the wrong assumption that it wouldn't be kept so updated what with all of your driving and camping and looking. But I was wrong, I'm impressed with technological efficiency.

We are loving your website...it is a little like being with you. We are anxious to see you. Mom

Greetings, we really are enjoying your updates. We are having a great time, really settled in now. Yesterday we went to a dude ranch over at Saratoga $300/person/day, we were guests of the Hollons for the 4th of July party. It was really nice. WE have spent some time with the Vaseks and they are awaiting Bethanne and Troy's new boy. The Robinsons have returned from sabbatical and we caught up with them a bit. Yesterday we had 4th of July celebration but didn't see many people we knew. Got a booster seat for Grace at a garage sale, will pick Trey and her up at DIA next Friday, after his reunion, head for Oregon to hook up with you guys. Looking forward to that. Spent one night at Vedauwoo and it was without a doubt the best night we've ever had there. The smoke went straight up (instead of all around us as usual). See you soon, love the pictures! DAd

Glad Tim has a good sense of humor about spending his birthday in Death Valley! Now that you have experienced temps at 122, maybe Texas will not seem so hot.

Hi Tim, Jill, Sam, Anna and Andy!
I LOVE your blog. I feel like I'm right there with you. Anna, i'm wondering if you've been able to find any swimming pools there in the desert, to practice your new skills! Andy, congrats on becoming a Ranger! That's cool! And Sam, I hope you will tell me when you get here what were your first thoughts as you gazed into the Grand Canyon. Was it amazing!
Oregon weather report: Partly sunny with flowers blooming everywhere, and ALOT cooler than Death Valley! Can't wait to see you!
Much love,
Aunt Siz
